Stacksteads Catholic Working Mans Club (aka Stacksteads Irish Club)
Stacksteads Catholic Working Mans Club, opened at Huttock End Lane in
1910, eventually it moved to today's Rosemount Working Mens Club (info & picture courtesy of Wendy Ann Andrew)
Well well. Is that the new Rose Mount Club off Huttock End Lane? I remember when it was a wooden type of long building and the Cathoilc Priest from St Josephs would call each night at 9-30pm and say prayers to the customers (who had to join in with him). A lot of customers would leave before 9-30pm solely because the Priest was 'On his way" haha.
Is this flats now? wasn't there a Police Station there once?
